— A Love elegy in Hindi
In this poem poet wears a hat of a melancholic inamorato incessantly importuned by its solitude and takes a poetic license to utter those words to the long lost signorina to whom he can never meet again and can only reminiscence.
अभी एक मुलाक़ात बाकी है,
अभी दिल की कुछ बात बाकी है।
जो हम ना कह सके, जो तुम ना कह सके
अभी वो कहना, सुनना बाकी है।
तेरी इक निगाहें इन्तजार में कितनी सुबह-शाम
गयी कितनी रातें बीत गयी,
अभी उनका हिसाब बाकी है।
अभी एक मुलाक़ात बाकी है,
अभी दिल की कुछ बात बाकी है।
तु मेरी ना कभी हो सकती, में कभी ना
तेरा हो सकता,
ये दिल को समझाना अभी बाकी है।
जिन्दगी कर लें तू चाहे जितने सितम,
अभी तुझे और आजमाना बाकी है।
अभी एक मुलाक़ात बाकी है,
अभी दिल की कुछ बात बाकी है।
